It's been a whirl wind spring so far and this will be a marathon post! I'll just do a picture log, with very little explaination, and hopefully have learned my lesson about waiting too long between posts. Some of the events are not very eventful, but will let you in our crazy daily lives!
My garden began in March and transformed from this....
to this...
to this....
And today looks like this, with tomatoes...
watermelon, zuccinni, and squash.
The beans have not done well, so do not warant a picture, and the little bunnies in the neighborhood that I thought were so cute, are no longer on my like list!! This is what they left of my cucumber plant, with much the same result to my cantalope and pepper plants! I never understood much about the pesky Peter Rabbit until now! Blake always reminds me that he has a bb gun, but Paige wouldn't have it!
The kids participated in "Marathon Kids" over the last 4 months (where they walked a full marathon, or 2 over that time period) and dressed in their matching shirts. Paige and Jason dressed as "twins" this day, down to the socks:)!
Paige's art work got chosen for art show at the Rec center here, and it was fun to go see it displayed.
Megan also got a peice of art work and a poem published in the yearly 5th grade book for the area.(I'll have to post those later.)
Jason got to attend a fun feild trip to a farm...
and saw how they milked the cow. Dad got to go and they had a ball!
The neighborhood had a great "Spring Fling" we attended with our great neighbors the Hunzikers. There was a petting zoo,
(yes that is a pig),
a clown that did balloons things,
a coloring contest,
and a good old Easter Egg hunt!
That same day we ventured to Canyon Lake, where Grant and Blake searched out some possible fly fishing spots and the kids and I played at the not so beachy beach. It is all rock, no sand, but fun none-the-less.
Looks a bit like Lucky Peak! Funny thing was that as we were watching the boats and skiers go by, our good friends, the Sayers, called. We loved spending time with them at the lake!!
Blake skipped rocks and chilled.
Meg and Paige examined something...
Jason built a dam, and sure wished he had some dirt or sand to fill in the holes!
This was the steep hike down to the water.
Then late that night, after baths we had to color eggs of course!
Happy Easter!!
We had our own little hunt, and it was even warm enough to extend the hunt outside! Love Texas springs!
(Blake looks thrilled doesn't he?! He's just doing it for the candy!:))
Jason was the "Star Student" in his class one week and we got to make a poster all about him, which had to include snow skiing, fishing and Sea World!
For Mother's Day the school did a fund raiser for some kids with cancer and they decorated cakes for moms. Paige got hungry during class and ate some of her's and later it fell off her desk face down, so here are the remains. :) Only Paige... gets hungry, so eats her Mother's Day cake! We got a good laugh out of that one!
Jason's cake.
Paige's remains:)!
Mom and Jason got to have a mommy/son date one night while all other's were out. We got him some new shoes and went to a fun place for snow cones where they converted the insides of old cars to tables and benches for eating.
Megan got to attend a DARE event, with her class, at Dell Diamond for a baseball game and was invited down on the field. Then the very next day got to tour the middle school where she will be attending.
Paige also had one last field trip to a museum down at UT.
Then we can't forget good old Feild Day!
I got to go spend a bit of time with the kids and eat lunch with Jason.
The sledding down the hill was the favorite! It made all the kids think of Grandma and Grandpa B's! (Of course it wasn't as fun as that!)
(Jason is in the middle here)
Meg, doing some moves!
and Paige sporting her shades adn Boise State shirt of course!
Hope you aren't snoozing by now! Sorry this post was so long! Our next big adventure is the beginning of summer and a much anticipated visit from family!! We are keeping busy, but still always remember our family and friends at home and miss them more all the time! The girls were painting nails tonight and remebering when Grandma painted their, and Drew's nails...knowing that Drew wouldn't let Grandma do that now!:) But they talked about how much they miss their cousins! It goes for all of you at home! We love and miss you all, and wish you all a Happy Spring!
