I have collected some of the photos of our summer fun, and hope you don't get bored, cause it was all a good time for us! :)
We got together with a couple of families and went out to Lake Georgetown to cliff jump. Yes, crazy, I know, but we all had a great time and had good company!
This shows how low the water level is (and this was just the end of June!) These were some of the low cliffs, which proved to not be the fun ones!
Paige jumped...
And Jason was fearless!! He jumped the most only second to Blake!
Blake was awsome at diving!!
This is Blake and his buddy Nick Velasquez diving.
Megan, Grant and I jumped too, just didn't get pics. You can't appreciate how high the cliffs are from this standpoint, but hopefully the video helps. At least it show how long it takes to get to the water.
Oh, I lied, here is a pic of Megan just hitting the water from a lower cliff.
It has been so hot here that just hanging around in the water was a good way to cool off and enjoy!
Paige with our friends Nick and Chloe Olson.
Jason has a buddy who's dad has a Suite at the Dell Diamond for all of the Round Rock Express games, and they invited us to join them for a night. I tell you what, we are now officially spoiled! When it is 100+ degrees outside, this is the only way to watch a game! Food, drinks and AC included!:)
1st base line view.
The kids enjoyed the "Fun Zone" and got to rock climb,
Bungie jump...(That is Megan in the middle and Paige to the left mid-flip. Once Paige figured out how to flip, she didn't stop. She was proud to have mastered a double back flip!)
This is Jason, and shows how high he got.
Then after the game we got to go down on the field for a live concert. We got to hear a local artist (someone Schnieder), and sit on the very soft grass, which is not a common thing in Texas. The music was great and made for a very fun night!!
The 4th of july just made us homesick! A complete fireworks ban was in effect, so the pool was our fun for the day!
We missed all the fun BBQ's we have had with family, and tried to put on a spread of our own. We had the Elders over for dinner, but, because of the heat, an outdoor BBQ was out of the question, so we had an indoor dinner. I just asked the kids what we did that night and it was so memorable that all they could come up with was, "We said a prayer to go to bed." :(
This was our spread!
Blake started sometime this summer telling me how awesome he is! Gotta make you smile. It started by coming in texts, and emails then he hung notes in the car, and this, I think, was the most creative! Crazy kid! Love him, and yes he is AWESOME! He went off to High adventure camp and hasn't left me a note since he got home and I'm starting to miss waiting for his next creative ideas!
We haven't had too many outings this summer, but we got to go to Six Flags with passes the kids earned from their reading program at school. Jason and Paige learned the harsh reality of carnival games.
But we had fun even though we did not come home with a monster size banana!
Stopping for a needed treat/water break!
Megan and Paige sang me this amazing song for my B-day and Grant and Blake suprised me with a new phone on the drive to Six Flags.
We have had pogo-mania at our house. Megan started it, and Paige and Jason pooled their resourses to get one for themselves. As you can see, it has to be done in the garage, cause it's too hot anywhere else, and our driveway is a serious hill to boot!
Grant started a new job a few weeks ago and that posed some challenges with what to do with the kids while we are both working full time! We were very blessed to find a great high school graduate from our ward who is waiting to go off to BYU. She comes a few days a week and takes the kids (the 3 youngers that is) places and wears them out! It is great! They have gone bowling, to the pool, to the arcade, to the pool, to the movies, to the pool, to the Pflugerville splash park, to the pool, to the library, to the pool....you get the idea! They are having a blast, and we know that she is an answer to prayer!
Hope you've enjoyed your summer like we have! There are still a few adventures to be had, but we can't believe that there is less than a month left! School shopping is under way, and the younger kids can't wait to use those new school supplies! We will miss all the Borgs in McCall! We could sure use some cool mountain air! Love and miss you all!
